Peter Sands, the executive director of The Global Fund visited our Mbare Hostels Clinic on 6 December to gain insights on key populations programme implementation. Since 2018, CeSHHAR is a sub-sub-recipient (SSR) of The Global Fund under the National AIDS Council (NAC) which is the sub-recipient (SR). The Global Fund’s invaluable support has enabled scale up of this KP-led programme, achieving national coverage with a comprehensive package of HIV prevention and care services delivered in the community and at facilities to KPs and their partners at 140 implementation sites in all 10 provinces across 40 Districts.

As a lover of data, Mr. Sands took great interest in our Data Corner where data visuals support monitoring performance against targets and unlocking valuable insights using root cause analysis techniques to inform programming.
Mr. Sands also had an opportunity to speak to community cadres who shared with him their experiences of sexual and gender based violence, stigma and discrimination. The microplanning approach that the Global Fund supports has enabled them to assist their peers in responding to sexual and gender based violence, and fight stigma and discrimination within communities.
