Strengthening Research Capacity In Zimbabwe
CeSHHAR is an organization that aims to conduct research which influences the global HIV and Sexual & Reproductive Health policy environment, and strengthens the quality of provision of evidence-based HIV prevention, treatment and sexual health care. We partner with several academic and non-academic institutions including but not limited to the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), University of Zimbabwe, Midlands State University, Great Zimbabwe University, University of the Witwatersrand, Harvard University, New York University, Ghent University, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and other international and African Universities with research excellence to rigorously evaluate national HIV prevention programmes and determine the impact, uptake, and cost effectiveness of novel HIV and sexual reproductive health interventions. We work at the forefront of finding innovative solutions to address the AIDS epidemic supported by a range of international donors.
About the annual research day
The inaugural CeSHHAR Annual Early Career Researcher Symposium, to be held on November 24, 2022, is planned as an in-person conference in Harare. In addition to launching the inaugural Frances M Cowan Emerging Innovator Award, the CeSHHAR ECR Symposium will accept important new cutting-edge research and findings on the most pressing issues and ideas. Furthermore, the symposium aims to recognise and facilitate synergies among researchers and programme implementers to exchange ideas and enhance interactions.
